Mapes-VO are proud to announce their first or two huge signings for the 2002 season under the form of Kieran Ryan.

The young Irishman impressed team owner Matt Maple from the start and there was no turning back from then on, "I watched Kieran every chance i could, he impressed me and it seems i impressed him too, lets hope this is the start of a long and beautiful relationship".

Peter-VO the joint team-owner of Mapes-VO was on hand to add "I think we have found a very quick and reliable driver in Kieran Ryan. Although we are still a bit underpowered, Kieran could very well be a serious threat to the BMW and Ferrari powered teams."

Kieran was in good form at the press conferance, when asked about his decision he said "I'm very happy to have signed for Mapes-VO. It's a very workable enviroment. The team has a good policy of supporting both drivers at 100%. The package at this team is strong and with that I hope to achieve the max."

Kieran was very upbeat at this time also, and some people reportedly said that the now 'very rich young man' had a spring in his step.

On that note it is time to reveal the financal implications of this signing, Kieran Ryan has signed for one season with Mapes-VO having an option on him for the 2003 season, this meaning that NO TEAM can approach Kieran without the FULL consent of Mapes-VO. Kieran is costing the team a reported £10,500,000 for this season and is no doubt one of the hottest properties in the league.

When asked about this huge sum Matt cooly replied "we want to win, and with Kieran in our side we can, if we wanted to be 2nd we wouldnt be here its that simple, we want to win and therefore sacrifices are made."

Finally the team would like to thank all that attended the Press Conference and assure everyone involved with the team that in 2002 they won't disappoint.
