After a difficult start to the season a strong result at the Portuguese Grand Prix has left the boys at Streetfighter with a renewed focus going forward.
The season started promisingly enough at a rainy Albert Park, with Douwe Tapper claiming 10th after running high for most of the race, heavy contact with a wall having dropped him several places. However a nightmare run was about to begin, commencing with a tactical error for the sprint race in Melbourne seeing the team unable to capitalise on its pace.

Tapper has had little luck to begin the season, with non-points finishes in Bahrain and Spain, however the hard work and preparation seems to have paid off with a strong drive from the back of the grid to 11th place in Portugal. He will be hoping to build on this in Istanbul and show the league the form that took him to several race wins and a 3rd place finish in the 2013 Formula Challenge season.

Ex-Woods Superleague driver Danny Asbury joined the team from Bahrain onwards and managed a string of points finishes, culminating in a strong 8th place finish in the sprint at the Portuguese Grand Prix. With Danny's contract coming to an end, the team is soon to announce a replacement for the season with will hopefully end the driver crisis which struck the team a week out from the season opener.

The team would like to thank Danny for stepping in and scoring some crucial points over the last few rounds and wishes him luck in his future drive. The team would also like to thank Scott Bennett for stepping into the car in Melbourne with very little notice.

Streetfighter Racing Systems is proud to be rasing funds for the Save The Tasmanian Devil Program Appeal. The Tasmanian Devil is an Australian icon and is at risk of extinction due to Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD). The disease has destroyed roughly 80% of the wild Devil population. In some Devil populations the decline is as high as 95%.

The Appeal raises funds that go towards research and management activities that are important to the management of DFTD and the long term survival of the Tasmanian Devil in the wild. Its efforts have helped achieve breakthroughs in the management and prevention of DFTD and so SRS will be donating a dollar to the Appeal for every point scored in their 2015 campaign, with additional amounts donated for any pole, fastest lap or podium finish. We encourage fellow competitors to make any donation that they can afford.

We are proud to announce that several parties have expressed their interest in making a donation and will be making sure their efforts are acknowledged in due time. SRS has currently raised $25 dollars for the appeal.
