Hawkeye announced tonight that the young Dutchman will take over as Hawkeye boss for the remainder of the season and beyond.
Hoekstra is relatively new to management having formed his first team this year in the World Sport Series (CM-Tech Racing) but is relishing the opportunity to work with a top team in the Superleague, Hoekstra told interviewers "I am very happy that I have been given this opportunity. I hope that I can use my dedication to racing and to the league to help Hawkeye forward in the constructor's championship. I look forward to work with the whole team and hope it will be a nice, long term partnership."

Team owner Ric Scott is equally excited about the deal "Since Andreas left the team I felt we were missing someone that was connected to the community more than I am. Last year we had a great group which helped our preparation for races. Wopke is a very intelligent and ambitious guy so I'm looking forward to having him in the team to help us fight for both titles this year!" added Scott.

Hoekstra will be taking charge for the next round of the championship in Spa, Belgium.
