The current World Champion announced he is pulling out of the rest of the 2016 season, leaving three drivers - Masciulli, Fidock and Francesconi - with a shot at the title.

Due to ongoing health issues the 2015 champion has had to call time on the season early. Puschke hasn't been seen since his Spa win two rounds ago and had been leading this seasons championship at that stage.

Mike Pitman - Vod:Bul Racing team owner
"The team's thoughts are all with Philipp at this time and we wish him a speedy recovery in time for 2017. Philipp had been having a great season once again and was in impressive form, winning 4 of the last 6 races he entered; missing two rounds earlier in the season made the championship battle closer than it probably should have been. I truly believe we are witnessing the driver of the era when he races and I'm in no doubt that in full health he would have defended his title from last season.

This has left us trying to fill a big hole in the team; luckily we have some great people to draw upon. David and Jordan have both done us a great service this season and we are of course so lucky to have Mindaugas on board now spearheading the team towards the end of the season.

The teams title is still a distant possibility with 50 points to make up and I will keep giving our drivers the tools to go out and enjoy themselves battling for possible wins.

It takes some big personalities to sit in the world champion's seat but for the final round we have brought in two guys that are definitely up for the challenge.

For the Abu Dhabi round this week we have George Manousakis returning to the league, we have been working with George this season in a different series and know his talents. GPVWC fans may remember him from the opening round of 2014 or from 2012 formula challenge. It's great to have him on board.

The final 3 rounds of the season will then be filled by returning driver Agustin Canapino. Agustin started this season for us before having to fulfill real life race commitments. More on that at a later time.

I'm sure you will all join me in wishing Philipp well and we will try to give him something to cheer about ."
