The veteran Superleague team announced today a race and a test driver - but a slot remains open for the second blue car.

Thousands of motorsport enthusiasts gathered at the Autosport International Show at Birmingham this weekend to see their favourite cars, try out various simulators and meet star drivers from across the motorsport world. Woods Racing were in attendance for the weekend and spent much of the show in discussions with interested sponsors and drivers. After a successful weekend - including team principal, Ollie Woods, finally realising his driving talent in an Abarth 595 - the team is very pleased to announce two of our drivers for the 2017 season, the team's fifteenth season of racing.

Lewis Redshaw continues with the team as a race driver, off the back of a successful season where he scored the team's first podium finishes since 2010. Lewis's pace, knowledge and laid back attitude will no doubt play a massive part towards potential success this year as the team aims to improve on last year, and he will take on more involvement in the development of the WR17 car and the TRIN005 engine. The deal was signed over the weekend in Yardley Wetherspoon's over a nice pint of cider.

Matthew Chirgwin joins the team as a test/reserve driver for the upcoming season. Matthew, better known as Chuggy, had a very successful season in Formula Challenge last year and continues to improve as a racing driver. His knowledge of car setup and his ability to acclimatise to new cars will be vital this year, both for the team's hopes and for the development of the Trinity engine.

The team is very proud to have both drivers on board. A second race driver is currently being sought - any interested parties should contact Ollie Woods directly - and the team hope to have this wrapped up as soon as possible. Woods are also very pleased to announce that the Trinity engine is now on sale to interested Superleague teams at £18,000,000 - a great affordable option and a chance to work in collaboration with a friendly, hard working team.
