Former Supercup champions turn to youth as they announce the driver pairing for the 2017 season.

Malta Force announces exciting new line up ahead of the 2017 Supercup campaign Former Supercup champions in 2011 the team knows what it takes to win but after three years of 6th place finishes in the teams standings manager Jason Muscat has put together an exciting young line up for 2017.

Jason Muscat: "I'm excited to announce Alex Siebel and Carlos Fernandez will drive for the team for 2017. Both drivers are young, motivated, energetic and fast from what they showed during practice in the old Malta Force car behind the scenes. This season shall be better than the last three as we aim to fight for a top 5 position in the championship."

Siebel will make his GPVWC race debut in Australia but was seen in the young drivers test at the end of 2016. It was his lap time there where he made the 11th fastest lap in an underdeveloped car that brought him into the spotlight where we were lucky to secure his services for Malta Force.

Alex Siebel: "I appreciate it a lot that Malta Force GP gives me a chance for the 2017 Supercup season without seeing me racing in a competitive environment except the Young Drivers Test a few months ago. I think I will fit in well with the ambitious way the team is working and I hope that I can help achieving good results. For me personally, the most important thing is to be consistent as I was before my one-year-break from simracing and get top 6 finishes regularly. The reversed-grid-rule for the second race could give me some opportunities to get a podium ? I want to use them as much as I can. I?m really looking forward to compete in such a strong field."

Fernandez is no stranger to GPVWC however having competed in the first half of 2016. The Spaniard quickly came to the leagues attention when taking part in Formula challenge and winning four races including a clean sweep in Canada! Having completed 30 races in three different series last year Carlos brings a wealth of experience setting up different cars and it?s that skill and speed combination that we are very excited to have on board Malta Force this year.

Carlos Fernandez: "I?m really happy to return to GPVWC after a good start in Formula Challenge in 2016 but for various reasons I was forced to leave the championship. First of all thanks to Menno Klont for helping me to find a seat in SuperCup, and of course, thanks to Jason Muscat for trusting me. I hope a great year with my team mate Alex Siebel to try to get the maximum possible points for Malta Force GP, which is a team that is always fighting in the top. I think working hard we can get great results. I hope to have fun on track!" Alex, Carlos and the whole Malta Force team are excited by the new partnership and can?t wait to see you all in Australia in March.
