The International Touring cup 2017 started at Donington Park this week and we had some great racing throughout.
Competition was fierce during all three races with the new higher success ballast helping to mix up the field even more.

Matt Richards put his Fanatec Draig Racing BMW on pole position but in the first race being pipped to the win by Rudy van Buren Racing. Niels Brugman taking the final podium position under half a second behind the winner.

In race two the ballast was added but Rudy van Buren managed to hold off the advancing Chris Butcher but 0.2 of a second for the win. Niels Brugman would take the final podium spot for the second time of the night.

Race three brought about the reverse grid in addition to the success ballast. Stefan McCready being the lucky recipient of pole position having finished 14th in race two.

The story here though was Matt Richards climbing 10 places take the victory he had just missed out on earlier in the evening. Rob Mason made the most of the reverse grid by staying out of trouble and claiming his first GPVWC podium of his career. Rudy Van Buren made it a third trip to the podium of the night coming through the field eleven places.

Heading into the next event at Zolder on the 31st of August Rudy Van Buren leads the drivers standings from Matt Richards and Niels Brugman. Teams standings are lead by VBMotorsport but closely followed by Fanatec Draig Racing and Doug Henson Racing - DHR
