Mere hours after confirmation of their promotion to Supercup, YTF1 have confirmed the first driver to join their debut season in the series.

After a memorable tenure in Formula Challenge, becoming the most experienced team in the history of the championsip, the time has come for YTF1 to move to Supercup.

Among the stories to come from the 2017 GPVWC Day was the news that YTF1 will be joining the Supercup grid for the 2018 season after competing in over 150 Formula Challenge races since 2013. During this exciting period of change for the team, they are delighted to maintain some consistency: after driving in over 90 Formula Challenge races for YTF1, Swedish driver Johan Lindberg will be moving up to Supercup and continuing with the team.

Lindberg made history in 2016, scoring YTF1's maiden victory in the Formula Challenge championship. Although Lindberg was unable to reach the same heights in 2017, his speed and dedication continued to shine in Formula Challenge whilst simultaneously driving in select Supercup races as the reserve driver for Deltec Racing Team. For 2018, Lindberg will be feeling well-prepared to move up to the Supercup full-time (and losing the number 13, which has allegedly brought him no end of poor fortune!)

Lindberg's teammate in 2017 was Matthew Marquard, who aided in YTF1's quest for promotion by scoring a vctory in Spain and several other podium places, unfortunately leaves the team for pastures new - competing against YTF1 with a different Supercup team.

YTF1 can take comfort in the fact that their record for most experienced Formula Challenge team won't be broken any time soon: the closest team competing in 2018 is over 50 races behind. Thus the bittersweet record is secure for at least the next year.
