Consistency is key at Red Arrow Racing

The fledgling outfit today set it's sights firmly on the Formula Challenge titles by announcing it's pairing for the 2018 season. The mantra for this year is very much "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", with the team retaining the services of Chris Butcher and David Jundt.

2012 Red Bull Gridsters champion Chris Butcher is no stranger to simracing success, winning one of the first real-world simracing competitions held in the UK, and enjoying dozens of victories inthe now-defunct Touring Pro Series. "I'm thrilled to be back driving for Red Arrow again this season. I only arrived at the back end of the 2017 season but in our short time we've enjoyed some good results, with a few podiums and even a race win. That helped push the team up to fourth in the standings. This year I'm aiming high and shooting for the driver's and team's titles. With the results we had in the latter part of 2017, there's no reason to believe that's not achievable. It's looking like a lot of teams are going to have strong driver line-ups though so we'll have to push hard all year - I'm really looking forward to the challenge. It will be great to work with my long-term teammate David again. I'm sure we'll be able to push each other and deliver the success the team deserves."

Experienced racer David Jundt certainly knows how to win championships, with his own outfit winning both titles in the 2017 season. "After starting out as emergency at Downforce, joining Red Arrow mid-way through the season and finishing the season third in the driver standings, I am back for a full season to drive a "pointed" vehicle in 2018. My personal goal will be to finally complete a season without finishing outside of the Top 15 in any event, something I was prevented from in 2017 at the FC round in Singapore. But in any case, I'll be trying to bring as much points to the table as possible, to claim a spot on the podium once more and maybe even improve on my final position in the championship. I'll look forward to work with my old THR teammate Chris over a full season and I am sure we'll perform well together, in order to not only get the team onto the podium in the team championship, but also have a serious shot at clinching the title."

Chris Williamson will once again perform reserve driver duties.

Team principal David Fidock is excited for this year's prospects. "The team enjoyed a fun first year but now it's time to get serious. With the strong results at the end of last year, the target has to be both titles. Consistency is going to be key to acheive that and I'm really happy to have 2 strong drivers onboard. We've also formed an exciting new partnership with Ric Scott and Sim Ink and invested in new media capabilities to help improve engagement with our followers."

Sim Ink owner Ric Scott comments on the new partnership. "Sim Ink was originally founded by Jamez Shepherd but has recently been resurrected by Ric Scott. The company will offer a range of printed sim racing items as well as car livery and helmet design. We're excited to be working with Red Arrow Racing in FC and we're looking forward to seeing how they do this year with their strong line-up which they have retained from 2017."

Red Arrow Racing will be present at the pre-season test on 20th February to shake down their new chassis.
