The Hawkeye pairing of Ricardo Costa and Fran Lopez topped the third testing day of pre-season, as Supercup also hits the track and research and development activities begin.
It's been a busy week for Career Ladder teams, on and off the track, as Superleague and Supercup took to the track in Imola.

The historic venue was the setting for the breaking of the pre-season Wauters hegemony; the Belgian team finally lost its testing crown as Hawkeye's Ricardo Costa and Fran Lopez set the two fastest times of the session. Liam de Waal was a convincing third for Storm, while EVAL confirmed their good run with Rait Kilk setting the fourth time.

Jarl Teien, who had topped both test sessions ahead of the Imola meeting, was fifth.

The day before, Supercup teams saw their first taste of action for the year. YTF1's Yuri Kasdorp was one of the two drivers for the team in the top three, topping the times and being separated from team-mate Johan Lindberg by Green Stripes' Bence Zsupanek.

There was plenty of action away from the track as well - Superleague teams are now developing their car (and engines) in earnest. While no upgrade will make their way to the teams in Melbourne yet, the widely-shared expectation is that we will see cars diverging in performance as early as round two in China.
