A 1-2 in Race One ensured the Swiss team opened a lead in the championship, while Cosmo Seiki Japan claimed a popular win in Race Two.
Scuderia Basilea mean business in Supercup and the reigning Formula Challenge champions made their early claim to a double promotion the moment they got to China.

Stephane Rouault was on form in qualifying, clinching the top spot ahead of Daniel Brewer of Scuderia Clay Geeli. Basilea's other star, Maciej Mlynek, was third with YTF1's Johan Lindberg completing the top two rows.

Once the grid penalty were dished out, however, it was Mlynek in the driving seat: the Polish driver dispatched Brewer and claimed a popular win in Shanghai, with his team-mate climbing from P5 to make it a Swiss 1-2. Brewer finished third, 10 seconds ahead of Roy Schroten, with an outstanding performance by Bence Szupanek seeing the Hungarian go from P25 on the grid to P5 at the chequered flag.

The inverted grid Race Two saw a dominant performance by Osvaldo Angelone, the Colombian winning by nine seconds over an in-form Schroten. Rouault and Josh Downard were behind the leading duo, while Mlynek was just held off the Green Stripes driver.

The results place Rouault climb to the top of the standings, eight points ahead of Angelone. Schroten's consistent string puts him in third, ahead of Brewer.

In the teams' standings, Scuderia Basilea is already a whopping 44 points ahead of Cosmo Seiki, the two teams clearly separated from THUnderdog in third.
