MCR is pleased to announce the signing of Andrew Turner to pilot the #19 MCR Mercedes in the upcoming season.

The Aussie has a history of success behind him in F1, and he is eager to get the new season underway in his home country, Australia.

Turner had this to say:

"I am very pleased to be driving for MCR. For me its a new team and a new team mate. Its MCR's first season in F1 but not mine, so i am sure my previous knowledge and victories will be a benifit to the team. I am sure we will have victories and podiums this season and i am aiming for finishing in the Top 3 Drivers Championship and scoring as many points as possible to help the team win the Constructors Championship."

Team manager, James Menzies, is optimistic with the driver lineup.

"Turner and Jones are both optimistic and extremely quick," says Menzies. "I will continue to develop this team and car so they have the equipment that will enable them to win races. We're not just going to show up at the races, we are going to be a major factor in the 2002 season."

While critics insist MCR is still a longshot, as a new team, the wheels are turning and MCR is gaining momentum as Melbourne qualifying approaches.

Both drivers were rumored to cost MCR $8 million combined. However, MCR is said to be planning a healthy incentive program rewarding good performance.
