Kimpusoft Racing Belgium launched their 2002 car earlier today. The belgian team will be fielding previous GPVWC race winner Jason Smith in 2002, and the team hope he will have James Davidson snapping at his heels. The new car livery was designed in-house by KRB, one of the few not to be penned by Max Downforce so far this season.

We are here together at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit to share an important step in Kimpusoft Racing Belgium History with you. In a few moments we will present you our 2002 contender. First of all, our technical chief's will tell you some facts and some more important people will share their thoughts.

Commercial manager Massimo squillace:

I was very happy to have the opportunity to join KRB. My excellent commercial skills helped us to secure a lot of sponsors, the HSBC sponsorship was my main target. I would like to thank Kim to give me these great people to work with, I think he has the best managed budget in the whole league. I hope this all will make it possible to realise our dream, winning the championship. If not this year, it will be next year!

Chief designer Leon Paradis:

The car is a total new design. We started with a blank sheet of paper and started to build around the Ferrari engine. The CFD simulations helped us to improve the aerodynamic effeiciency. In general we have a conventional but solid desing.

Chief engineer Heinz Harald:

I was surprised how advanced our engineering department was when I arrived at the KRB headquarter. I don't think many teams will do better at this part of the factory. As every KRB member and fan I look forward to the start of the season, I don't know where we will end up in the qualification and race but I am confident.

Chief mechanic Patrick Scanlon:

Only a few adys ago we finished building our cars. The drivers will have brand new cars to start the season with. This should them enable to score points! I joined KRB a few weeks ago and I already feel myself a part of the family, great job Kim!

Kim De Schutter: I think it is time to let you see where you came for. I am proud to present you our 2002 car, named D01.

A fine piece of art, engineering and desing. I want to thank the whole team who realised this and our sponsors who made this project possible. I am sure Jason and James will like the car. Let the season begin!

Jason Smith added:

"I am very happy to have joined a top team in KRB, I felt overall they could offer me the best chance to claim the drivers title this year especially with Ferrari backing. I am glad Kim has given me this chance and look forward to working with James to try and win the constructors title as well"

James Davidson

I am so glad I have signed with one of the top teams in this year's championship, I am happy Kim had faith in me! I am looking foward to working with Jason, he looks to be a real championship contender, and an all round nice guy! See you in Melbourne!!

Kim De Schutter: I hope you and our sponsors are happy with the carlivery as we have spend lot's of hours on it. As you will already know, our dream is to win the championship. However we will not be disappointed if wa cannot realise that. We are a young and healty team, full motivation, professionalism,..

I would like to thank everybody who attended the launch here at Spa. If you want to see a flash move about the presentation visit http://home.planetinternet.be/~dskim/movie.zip it contains more high-res. Pictures from our car, a must to see!
