Lexow and H20 Namaco?s Hamming take first two rounds of the Supercup season.
Crossfire got their Supercup season off to the best of starts as Steven Lexow took victory in Race One in Australia.
Frank Hamming held on for a nail-biting win in the second race of the evening to second in the standings.
But Lexow, along with David Jundt picked up four top-six finishes from four - including a podium in addition to the win.
The first Supercup pole of the season went to Alessandro Quintaie, who got off the line well to lead the field into Turn one ahead of Hamming.
Matt Richards had a good start to move up to third whilst Lexow dragged away slowly.
Drama struck on Lap Four as Hamming got his braking zone wrong and collided with race leader Quintaie. Whilst the Pescara SRT driver managed to limit the damage and rejoin fourth, Hamming slipped to tenth.
Richards was defending the lead hard from Lexow, who was trying around the outside whenever DRS was available.
With overtaking more than difficult, the Crossfire came into the pits a lap earlier than anyone else. When the pit stops had played out, the undercut had worked with Richards now in second.
A man on the move was Sven de Vries, up to third from eighth on the grid. The Satellite driver finished ahead of Quintaie and Jundt.
When the reverse grid draw was made, Pedro Gomes? ninth place gave him Pole for race two, alongside Hamming.
A hectic start saw Jundt rise to third, de Vries move up to fifth whilst Quintaie and Lexow both fell down the order.
Gomes had initially led from the get-go in the Malta Force, but the fast approaching Hamming made the race wining move down the inside with the aid of DRS.
The battle behind was hotting up. Jundt and the Razor of Jannis Wollborn had gotten past Gomes and set about closing down the leader on a different tyre strategy.
When Wollborn made the move on Jundt to go second, it looked like he would take the victory. However, the gap didn?t quite close quickly enough, and as the top two crossed the line, there was only 0.062 seconds between the nose of the Namaco and the Razor.
De Vries looked to snatch the final podium place away on the final lap. A dive down the inside of Jundt draw contact - and whilst the move did eventually come off, a good show of sportsmanship saw the stricken Jundt retake third.
Leon Bock took fifth ahead of Race One winner Lexow, whilst Menno Klondike, Quintaie, Bastian Paisler and Adriano Oppecini rounded out the Top ten.
The results mean that Lexow leads Hamming by two points on 35, with Wollborn three further back.
Crossfire lead the way in the Constructors table, 14 ahead of the H20 Namaco Racing. Razor take third with their solo race entry of Wollborn.
