Southern Cross United Motorsport [S.C.U.M] formally took over Mommark Racing earlier this week, aand while they raced under the Mommark banner in Australia, they are now officially launching their 2002 S.C.U.M car.

Dan Regan (co-Manager and lead driver):

"I, as a manager, see this season as very much a development season. We realistically cannot expect to challenge anyone but the weakest of teams for position and should just endevour to finish as many races as possible. We'll attempt to get as many kilometres in the car in both testing and racing and work on development for some future season where we can be a legitimate challenger for points. That said, as a driver, and after experiencing the enthusiasm of the rest of the team, it is hard not to look at this season being one where we can challenge for a mid-field finish in the championship."

Peter Harding (Co-Manager and Test Driver):

"As co-manager of and test driver at Southern Cross United Motorsports I look forward to the cut and thrust of the F1 circus. It has been a dream of mine to drive in F1 since I was mutilating rabbits on the farm. Now that we have an Australian based team in F1 we will be doing everything we can to show the world what the Aussies can do."

"In my role as test driver I will be looking to sort out the problems left to us by the previous owner. Lack of testing and lack of interest are two things you will not see from this team ever again. I will be a regular fixture at all test sessions as the season progresses pushing the car to its limits and beyond, steering us in the right direction, to the head of the pack."

William Ponissi (Driver):

"I'm so excited about this new management. I know how Dan works, and this will eventually pay. I am also happy for Rab Harding to be with us, I'm sure we'll develop the car massively with his help."

"I am looking forward for the next races, as I strongly desire to show that I can be there fighting for some points. What happened in Australia will not stop me."

Colin Green (Chief Designer):

"I believe we have the basis for a great car, both the chassis and engine are very early on in their development lives. With the planned design and test programs and a new management team showing a hell of a lot more interest, we should be a regular point scorer by the end of the season and a title contender sooner rather than later."

Flip Janssen (Chief Engineer):

"I believe actions speak louder than words, and you will see a lot of action from SCUM this season. "

Jaap Schokker (Chief Mechanic):

"As I have limited F1 experience there will be a steep learning curve this season. I beleive that by the end of the season SCUM will be a household name in F1, just hearing the name SCUM will turn drivers legs to jelly and make managers run to their mommas."
