Martin Ortiz has been confirmed as the new driver for Stealth-Honda, taking the vacant seat in the #15 car. Ortiz has already arrived in Barcelona to compete at the Spanish Grand Prix, and will comlete both qualification and the race itself.

The deal appears to have been signed in a rush, as Stealth went right up to the deadline for having a contract signed.

Paddock rumours have pointed to Ortiz and Gene Annunziata as the two finalists, but as Team Manager Ted Cragg explained: "It was a quick decision, Martin contacted us first and we had to go ahead and do the contract so that the team could get maximum results this weekend. But the door is still open for Gene, and we appreciate all the effort he has put in."

Martin Ortiz stated; "I'm pleased to join the team on such short notice, and look forward to having a good effort this season."

The Stealth line-up is thus two thirds complete, with Joe Consiglio and Martin Ortiz leading the way. A vacancy remains for the test driver position, but it is expected to be filled within the next week.
