BA Racing had another mixed qualifying session at Spain yesterday. The British team qualified comfortably in the top 10 with #1 driver Dan Lawrence setting the 7th fastest time, but #2 driver, Mal Mckee, failed to qualify.

Lawrence had a fairly straightforward session, managing to improve his times consistently through practice and gain the eventual 7th spot on the grid.

"I guess it was a good session. The car was incredibly stable around the entire circuit, the engine was driveable, everything was near perfect to be honest, the eventual lap time is a little slower than what I thought possible, again another 3 tenths were available to me but the limited time in qualifying meant I didn't have enough time left to improve and reach the optimum lap. This is the 2nd race in succession I have qualified 7th, and I am pleased for the consistency in the result, but would obviously prefer to move forward a bit more, all in time though I guess. I am again confident for the race, we are pretty certain of a top 6 finish, and I will be disappointed not to gain this."

Mal McKee had a torrid session. He was unable to fly out to Spain in time for the Qualifying session, and therefore cannot take part in the race. This is a further blow to the team after failing to be consistent in both cars so far this season, although the team still fully backs McKee and will be working closely with him to ensure that this sort of occurance will not be an issue in the remaining races of the 2002 season.

On a lighter note, BA Racing has a team website currently under construction, details will be released in the next few days.
