The mid-season horrors continued for Southern Cross United Motorsports at Austria's A1 circuit over the weekend.

After less than earth-shattering qualifying performances things didn't improve any on race day. Rab Harding started the race in P17 on the grid and stayed right there, on the grid not in P17. A team spokesman blamed yet another computer glitch for the failure. The team will have to go back to the drawing board yet again as they'd already changed computer systems prior to the race.

Dan Regan had nothing to blame for his slow pace during the race other than a 'total lack of form'. "Austria has always been my least favourite track of the season but I thought I'd come to grips with it reasonably well, I'd obviously underestimated what sort of pace would be needed for a reasonable finish"

Harding stated "We have no other ambition this season other than to finish as the premier Australian team and we've now fallen behind Dizzo in that race. After 2 races without any points we now have to make sure we eliminate any further glitches and then concentrate on getting consistant points from every race. We'd shown reasonable early season form and we have to get back on track if we want to be the best Aussie team".

Regan added "We can't match the top teams for pace as we lack both the horsepower and the experience, but, we can score consistant points, we've shown that. As long as we get can both get back to finishing anywhere between 7th and 11th in most races we can reach our ambitions for the season".

Both drivers jumped in the team helicopter to get back to the continuing birthday party for William Ponissi before heading on to Monaco in time for some R&R before the next race.
