Andy Graydon finished stongly again for MCR in the Canadian Grand Prix, the home race for the team and most of it's staff. Things seemed to be going fine until trying to produce the lap times in the second stint - the heavier fuel load meant that lap times were sufficiently increased to be uncompetitive.

Attempting a two stop strategy, with Michelin promising that the tyres would be grippy for over 20 laps, Andy decided to opt for a short first stint, a long second stint, followed by a normal third stint. The tyres for the third stint were spot on and helped just keep 5th place from Blair in the underpowered Dizzo. The car felt good throughout the race, the only trouble coming with some of the backmarkers - especially those with more BHP than our Mercedes was producing.

On a more troublesome note, as Andy headed up the steps to get on the plane for the flight home, he slipped and badly gashed his left leg - his ankle is currently very swolen and he is having physiotherapy to hopefully enable him to put a qualifying session together at the Nurburgring.

The track is new to Andy, and this problem could lead to a difficult next race due to the potential for reduced track time.

MCR management are keeping their fingers crossed that he will be fit enough to compete.
