TheSixthAxis Racing team is an English Simulation Racing team first competing in GPVWC's 2013 World GT series. Its current race drivers are Englishmen Cameron Brewster, Matthew Williams, Philip Morby, and Thomas Jacobs. The team first started sim-racing in 2012 at the Gentlemen's Racing Club touring car racing series, since then the team has moved to GPVWC, along with partaking in Touring Pro Series' Tom Onslow-Cole Clio Series 2013.

History

2013

The 2013 World GT season was the first foray for TheSixthAxis Racing into GPVWC. Previously, the team had only taken part in two other series; the Gentlemen's Racing Club Touring Car Series and the Touring Pro Series Tom Onslow-Cole Clio Cup. Despite this, proven drivers Matthew Williams and Philip Morby were put into their car of choice (the Chevrolet Corvette) and were confident of a good half-season ahead of them. Team co-owner Cameron Brewster agreed to be the GT team's reserve driver if needed.

The first race TSA GT entered was the 2013 Nurburgring GT Cup. Qualifying proved to be a baptism of fire for the two drivers as neither had dealt with RFE weather before and a wet session left them in the lower end of the grid. The start saw Morby unfortunately get tangled up in a first corner incident, though the race saw much better results from Williams who after a hard fought race came home in 15th taking the team's first point on debut. The two drivers claimed that they were using Germany primarily as a "testing session" to gauge the quality of the field and themselves and were very happy to come away with a point.

For Britain, the team were looking much more competitive with Williams recording the eight best time in practice. The race however still proved difficult though overall was not too bad. Morby managed to beat his previous best finish by ten places to finish 17th whilst Williams still came home in 14th to bag another two points. Afterwards he claimed that the car "just lacked pace" though was still taking positives forward to Bathurst.
