Matt Hunt has called it a day (at least for 2003) and Jim Moir has taken over the reigns and is now team boss and driver. Using the same engine package for 2003 as NWO, Jim and new team-mate Adam Fretter agreed that a name change was necessary.

"First of all I'd like to thank Matt Hunt for getting me started in f1 racing and giving me my big break," said Moir, "it surprised me that he is calling it a day, he was such a dedicated team boss and fellow team mate, he will be missed and he would be welcome back to this team at any time.

I discussed with new signing Adam Fretter if we were to keep the NWO brand name but we decided to go with a fresh start and call it Vedder F1. I must also express my delight of signing Adam to the team; he has just recently broke his duck in the SFO with a great win at Indy and can hopefully get some great results here.

Were not expecting miracles in Suzuka because of our low powered engine but a good result will hopefully carry on the momentum for 2004. We both realise that F1VWC wont be a walk in the park because of all the raw talent out there but if we can push each other to our limits the team can only go forward, and with plans of a new power plant in 2004 it should close the gap to the bigger budget teams. We are looking forward to the challenges we come up against in the future and hopefully make Matt Hunt a proud founder of this team."
