Dan Lawrence has dismissed any talk of merger after the Monaco quals.

"The qualifying session was split two ways for us again at DL Racing.

Scott Smith had a superb run to 5th place while Glenn Bowen had his usual run of car troubles.

The practice sessions gave a clear indication to Smith's speed and he was consistently under the 1m20s - raising to the 1m19s as he improved the car setup and his knowledge of the Monaco circuit. He settled into his groove incredibly quickly and proved yet again that he is a greatly talented driver.

Glenn Bowen started the practice session in poor spirits and after his first few laps he returned to the pits with a face like thunder. He reported a problem with nearly every aspect of the car but mainly that he had absolutely no grip. He promptly left the circuit and the DL Racing team.

The session was again 'a mixed bag' but we are pleased with the outcome of qualifying. One car in the top six is better than two cars lower down the order. Scott has a great chance in the race. We are poised to take fifth place in the championship. We only need to score 2 points to take the position from Britten and we are very optimistic that this will be possible. Scott also has a chance of snatching 5th in the drivers championship - which he is relishing greatly.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that the DL Racing team will not be merging with another team for the 2001 season. However new team manager, Lynette Dixon (LCD F1) has withdrawn her entry for the 2001 season and bought a 49% share of DL Racing. Dixon will become assistant team manager and help with the day to day runnings of the team in 2001."
