MMC hoped for a long awaited strong race result after qualifying 1st and 4th for the Italian GP. It was just not meant to be as McConkey's race hopes evaporated when his transmission failed on lap 28. Less than 5 minutes later the sister MMC driven by Paul Sleight went off track, and his race was unfortunetly over.

Ryan McConkey - "Wow, I am really disappointed with this result. I was doing well in the race and I really thought I could have finished in the top 5 at least. Bad luck came into play and it was just not my day or the teams day for that matter. Up and down feeling going from pole to out of the race with a failure. Only good thing is that this one of the very few mechanical failures we've had all year, so we should still be greatful for that. I'm looking forward to France now though, hope to bounce back from this result. There is however some problems with Paul at the moment. I can't comment further on that, but I hope it's sorted out soon."

The team look onward to Magny-Cours. Sleight and McConkey were fairly quick during preseason testing there and the team hopes they can get a strong result.

MMC would also like to send congratulations to Kieran Ryan on his first victory in the F1VWC. Congratulations Kieran!
