DL Racing are pleased to confirm all contracts for the 2001 GPVWC season.

We worked exceptionally well with the Peugeot F1 engine team in 2000 and were closing on a deal with them - until they revealed their engines performance. On the test bench it was not topping more than 755bhp! Naturally we started to look for alternative deals. We spoke to several other manufacturers, including the Peugoet spawned AMT company, but in the end we secured the Renault engine which proved so strong last season for A-Racing. It is rumoured to be pushing 800bhp on the test bench and we are very confident that it will propel our cars to the top of the grid.

After a lengthy Guiness session with Eddie Jordan I managed to get him drunk enough to sell us a truckload of Jordan chassis! He was a bit bemused with the idea once he had sobered up but soon came around to it. Already rumours are abound that the DL Racing cars will be bright yellow in 2001 - I would like to quash these rumours right now!

Bridgestone was the only sensible choice of tyre and we never really thought of going with any other company. We are sure that the Bridgestones will provide an excellent level of grip and durability in 2001 and are pleased to be continuing our fruitful relationship with them.

Talks with fuel supplier Elf broke down late in the day when they pulled out because we would not renew our deal with Peugeot. The all French company must be feeling a bit sore right now after hearing we signed with the other french car giant Renault! Shortly after this we received an email from fuel supplier Shell who were very keen to supply the DL Racing team in 2001. After a short meeting we signed a 1 year contract and depending on it's performance will renew it in 12 months time.

All in all the FedEx DL Racing Renault team is looking very strong for it's first win in the GPVWC.

All we need now are the drivers to fill the seats!
