Mid-pack outfit D.O.R. have confirmed the signing of Romanian driver Leontin Nemet for the rest of the 2009 Superleague season. Nemet, who is reported to be signed under the terms of a six-months deal, will join Nikos Evangelidakis, who in recent events has been the only driver fielded by the Gijon-based team.

Leontin Nemet, an experienced racer with a past with Vod:Bul, started the season with Gear F1, before being sidelined in favour of Wayne Mullins and Gavin Thomas. Once a free agent, he was rumoured to be close to signing a deal with Maximum Racing, but opted for the solidity of D.O.R. instead. He has suffered from a streak of bad luck in 2009, failing to score a point so far despite some very promising performances both in qualifying and in race, but most observers and fellow drivers reckon solid point finishes to be well within Nemet's range.

The signing of such a skilled and talented driver will also prove a boon for debutants D.O.R., and pundits believe the Romanian's ability with setups will help also team mate Evangelidakis improve on the already excellent results of his first Superleague season.
