Nordsjoen off to a positive start though not much to be drawn from lack of competitive laps.
Following a long test session yesterday at the Nurburgring, Agustin Canapino came out with the fastest time of the Melbourne-bound Superleague drivers with a 1:30.987. At this early stage, however, often the Superleague pecking order is more hard to read than that of Formula 1. The spread of the field being fifteen seconds gives a good indication as to the extent of the 'sand-bagging'.

Nevertheless, the likes of Canapino along with Fran Lopez and Jarl Teien did appear to give us a glimpse of what is to come with Teien holding off from setting a best lap of the session though clearly showing some promising pace through individual sector times.

David Fidock and Jordan Weekes rounded out the top five of race drivers present at the test. The reigning champion was 1.4 seconds off the pace and evidently holding back whilst Weekes will enjoy a bit of time on stage as Target looks to bounce back from a less than impressive first year at the top level.

With 41 out of a potential 42 drivers taking to the track at some point, it was the already down-beaten Kernow Sport who look to have lost the most out of Pre-Season Test #1. Following the collapse of their Krevder engine company, they now find themselves with the least laps completed of anyone as only race drivers Mark Wicks and Bart De Vos pumped in the laps for crucial R&D points. Will this come back to bite them?

Tommi Koivunen, Nick Rowland and Kieran Ryan all find themselves one test out of practice already as none could attend the session in Germany.
