A look back at how the team fared around the Istanbul Park Circuit.

Last Wednesday, the GPVWC World Sport Series moved onto Round 3 and the Turkish Sport Series, held at the Istanbul Park Circuit.

This standings ahead of the race for the Walk Racing drivers looked as follows:

1st - Risto Kappet 47pts
8th - Cameron Brewster 33pts

Walk Racing also led the teams championship going into the third round, so hopes were high for a strong race and to extend the lead.

Qualifying Result
6th - Cameron Brewster
11th- Risto Kappet

6th was a season best starting position for Brewster, who said "I didn't seem to have the pace in official practice, that I did building up to race night. However, something clicked in qualifying which meant I started Race 1 in? th! Was nice to out-qualify Risto (let's pretend he didn't have 45kg of ballast)!"

Risto Kappet said after qualifying, "I did a lap in practice with the same amount of ballast, which would have put me 4th on the grid, but that didn't happen!"

Race 1 Result
11th
Risto Kappet
14th
Cameron Brewster

Finishing in the same position as to where he started, Risto said "I had lots of battling with people, who I dont usually meet. 45kg success ballast is one thing, in the practice, but in the race, its even more of a penalty and extremely hard to make any progress! I benefited from some people's mistakes, but also lost pace because of the weight. This meant that I finished in my starting position, which was not bad at all, considering what it meant for the second race. However, my final position should have been few higher as I knew I could win Race 2 from further back."

Cameron Brewster said "I was battling for most of the race with Wopke at the lower end of the top ten. Unfortunately I missed my braking point at the end of the back straight which meant I dropped to 15th. In the end I made one place up to finish 14th. So a double points finish for myself and Risto."

Race 2 Result
1st Risto Kappet
3rd Cameron Brewster

Winner Risto Kappet said "I started 5th with the reverse grid, and got involved in a good battle, especially with Jundt, until he spun out, but in general, it was a repeat of Portimao with a pretty comfortable win and again Cameron on the podium, super result for the team."

Cameron Brewster had his second podium in as many rounds, saying "Started 2nd and was nervous as ever. Managed to get a decent start and stay second until I saw Risto approaching. I didn't make things hard for him as he's got a title to go after. Then spent the rest of the race battling with Parker to come home third."

Championship Standings
1st-
Risto Kappet 77pts
8th-
Cameron Brewster 51pts
