Kernow Sport gives us their usual rundown of each round of their Superleague campaign, this time from round 8 in Britain.

The teams home Grand Prix at Silverstone, enjoyably turned out to be another good days work and strong haul of points. Lifting us another position in the championship; to within spitting distance of the top 5.

TM Wicks: "Bart had to miss his first race of the season so Sven had another chance at driving the #12 for the event, alongside Dan's #83.

Qualifying was reasonable, but a penalty for Dan meant he was one of a group of drivers sent to the back for the start. This meant he played the strategy game and qualified and started on the Prime compound, which he ditched after the opening lap to concentrate on using the faster Options until the end. The early extra pit-stop left him to catch the pack back up, which he did so rapidly and then had to work his way through a large group of cars, passing often, to into the points positions. His strategy paid off as he climbed to 6th place for 10 points, holding off Geier on the last lap.

Sven's race was more traditional. A good start: then lapping around 5th for most of the race. Starting on Options and putting the Primes on for his final stint. However, he was caught by a group, on the Options, led by Dan in the closing stages and had to fight to hold on to 8th. 8 points from his result gave us another 18 and a second consecutive double top-10. We're now 6th overall (having jumped the now departed Midnight squad) just 1 point behind Woods. I'm sure we'll have them in Austria, as another batch of updates helps keep the progress on the car up there with the top teams."

#83 Brewer (6th): "I had a very marginal cut from qualifying in Canada which meant I frustratingly had to start from the back of the grid. Went for an alternate strategy which worked out sort of okay, pitting at the end of lap 1 to get rid of the primes, however I caught back up to the pack much faster than I thought I would so ended up getting held up. Made quite a few moves and had a relatively quiet race up until those with newer rubber began chasing me down at the end. I managed to hold off Geier, just about, to take p6 from the back of the grid. So a good result considering really, and onto the next one!"

#12 De Vries (8th)

Points: 89
Position: 6th
