TBA Racing today confirmed rumours that the team has once again undergone a change in management - to none other than one of the teams drivers!

In a press conference earlier today it was revealed that Steve White had stood down as CEO of the UK based Formula One outfit due to unforeseen personal commitments. His replacement is none other than the teams English driver, Chaz Charlton.

It was revealed that ever since taking control of the TBA Racing organisation, Steve White had been fighting a losing battle with his other business commitments and something had to give – unfortunately, this turned out to be the F1 considerations so recently acquired. In a rapidly held board meeting which included both drivers and the teams new test driver Jonas Lindberg as well as executives from the Rolls Royce organisation, an offer was made to driver Chaz Charlton to take over responsibility for the running of the team, effective immediately.

"I was astonished", admitted Charlton who is still recovering from the injuries sustained at the Suzuka track. "absolutely astonished! I was also very grateful that the board considered me seriously enough to be approached before an outside offer was made".

"The injuries I sustained at Japan had given me time to consider my future as a driver anyway as the Doctors suggested I would never regain the fitness level required to endure a full race season. I have concluded the sign over into my name and have just written the largest cheque I have ever written since my divorce settlement!"

In a carefully worded statement, Charlton revealed that the new TBA Racing outfit would be more motivated than ever before and announced a sweeping number of internal changes but was very quick to announce that the engine deal with Rolls-Royce was secure for at least the next 2 years after the take-over, strengthening the belief that Charlton was instrumental in gaining the engine deal for the team in the first place.

New sponsors have been signed, not the least of which is Knight Air who have injected a huge amount of cash into the TBA outfit. The new liveried car should be available to the team after the British Grand Prix which also marks Jonas Lindbergs first outing as newly promoted full time driver which leaves the test driver position vacant. The team are also re-locating to the North of England and will be based close to Croft autodrome circuit which will aid in testing.

At the after conference bash both drivers were pleased with the new takeover and stressed they would be more determined than ever to improve their results and that a new aerodynamics package would be available for testing after Silverstone. As a final comment, a semi-inebriated Charlton announced that the drinks were on him and that everyone had better take advantage of the cash while he still had it as unless the Silverstone results were an improvement on Spa, his bank manager would be after him with a wheel gun!!
