The Home G.P. came to a close with a bang today when both of our drivers finished the race in 9th and 11th positions.

Silverstone Race review by P. Visscher from Team RaceBase:

"All seemed well for Raceday, great Qual result in 9th position the best of the year so far, the weather was dry so it looked to be a great day, BUT the race didn't go as planned, after a few Big last minute changes on the setup in warmup (we had a computer crash destroying our hard-drive and wiping all data (including setups) we hoped for the best.

The start went well, got up to 6th in the first bend and made my way to the front slowly, the setup was not perfect the front of the car had less grip than before. So i was struggling a bit with the car,and lost some places i think the balance of the car was "lost" , where to? who knows.

I hope the team can find the problem and fix it for the next GP. We really do need another Chassis to cure the balance problems. I do hope that Dave will make a Sponsorship deal soon so that we have more money to spend on the car.

I found the Race hard, could complete it but was totally worn out (passed out for a few sec.) but our lovely Dotty Doris! our team Physio cured that for me by rubbing my body all over. After a chat with Dotty I decided to stop smoking from now on and work more on my condition to improve my concentration.

After the race we went to the Team factory to see the plans for 2001 on the car, the new Car design is halfway and on shedule so i think we will be testing it in time for the team to get a better idea off the cars handling.

Larry Karam Silverstone Race review By Larry Karam.

"Due to my 15th position on the grid, I had nothing to lose, but a lot to win, so me and Oscar were trying a new strategy that could help the team for the race and be able to bring in some points. The race started very good but it got worse when in mid-race I had some damage to the bottom of my car and it was slowing me down. The new strategy of a full fuel tank and only one quick stop for the tyres helped me gain time that I lost. I had good a setup but was suffering from oversteer, I was able to finish the whole race without a crash.

I'm really looking forward to the Canadian and Monte Carlo Grand Prix and the 2001 Season with Team RaceBase".

Dave Harland Team Racebase Team Manager

"Well the end of the Grand Prix certainly brought out the party spirit in the team and due to the last race in Europe we had plenty of cheap beer and Fags to celebrate with Peter Visscher really went to town and was worse for wear with the booze and did a victory lap round the RaceBase hospitality tent on his motorbike with Dan(Ecclestone) Lawrence riding pillion waving contracts for DL Racing in the air and shouting 'Up the Aussies'. Why the referance to our Antipidean Friends I couldn't rightly say. After we got Dan off the motorbike (which took some considerable time due to the fact that we had to chase them round the tent) and pumped endless gallons of black coffee down his neck, he stood witness to a rather unfortunate event, when, unbenown to anyone Dotty Doris and Ever-ready Ethel (our Tea-Lady) were spotted by Dan in a very compromising position with a well known Team Manager, (who shall remain nameless from New Zealand) a stick of wet celery and a high pressure washer. (We will now have to buy another high-pressure washer) Dan was seen to remove the cost of the washer from our 2001 budget.

The team band played until the early hours with Dan supplying numerous requests for them to play Tie me Kangaroo Down Boys and Who's Sorry Now".

So, once again all in all a very good British GP with an excellent result for the team.

See you all at the next race.
