Alex Cooper is an English sim-racer currently driving for Midnight Motorsport in the GPVWC Superleague. Cooper finished second in the 2012 Supercup. He also made two Superleague starts and was declared the winner of the Japanese Grand Prix, his second Superleague start. On the 27th of November 2012, it was announced that Alex would make the step up to Superleague as a race driver for Midnight Motorsport in 2013.

Early Sim-Racing Career

Alex started Sim-Racing in 2009 on rFactor, after difficult years in FSR, GPO and various other leagues, success finally came in 2011 at GPO. Alex took 3 victories on his way to 4th in the 2011 GPO Sprint Trophy. After a one off Supercup race in 2011, Alex moved over to GPVWC full time for 2012 after the closure of the GPO league.

Superleague

2012

Alex made his Superleague debut as an emergency replacement for Nick Rowland at the Dutch Grand Prix. Cooper qualified third and finished a highly creditable sixth, despite having to pit for damage during the race. Alex was once more called up for Superleague duty at Suzuka, this time subbing for the ill Lukas Euler. While Alex finished the day second on the track, the penalty handed out to Jamez Shepherd promoted Alex to race winner.

2013

Alex finished 5th in the championship, taking four podiums and a pole position.

Supercup

2011

Alex Cooper made his Supercup debut for Red 5 Racing midway through the 2011 Supercup season at Bahrain. He qualified in 11th position and went on to finish the race in eight position. This would be his only start in the 2011 season.

2012

Early in the winter of 2011, Alex was approached by Dave Carr-Smith to race for CSG Racing in the Supercup for 2012. After an average start to the season, Alex took pole, fastest lap and the win at the Spanish Grand Prix. Following a difficult race at Canada, Alex went on a run of nine straight podiums, making him a firm championship contender. With five victories in a row in the summer, Alex had rapidly closed the gap on the championship leader Petter Kaasa.

The championship was eventually decided at Japan, where Alex could only manage 5th. He ended the season with a hat trick at Singapore.

Alex took the most victories of any driver in the 2012 Supercup season.

Despite being disappointed to have not taken the championship, Alex and CSG were happy to be part of the championship fight.

World Sport Series

2012

Alex took part in the 2012 World Sport Series, driving for Midnight Motorsport.

He took one podium finish and finished third in the drivers championship.
