2012 Formula Challenge season
Tuomas made his début in GPVWC in the Challenge Spanish Grand Prix 2012. Having come just at the end of the season, he had to find a team to race in. He was offered a seat from Tiger Express Motorsports to drive alongside Janne Vaananen. He surprisingly took 2nd place in qualifying, and took the race lead on the first lap when the pole-sitter David Gaspers flipped his car over in the feature race. However the fun lasted only a couple of laps, when Tuomas lost the traction under braking, and quickly lost positions. After all the misfortunes he finally finished 10th. The sprint race wasn't too good either. He spun in the opening lap because he got hit from the back. He recorvered and finished 6th.
He wanted to gain experience from the mod so he could compete in 2013 Formula Challenge season. However the testing was quite unnecessary as the mods for 2013 changed dramatically.
2013 Formula Challenge seasonEager and fresh to start a new season, with big plans ahead. Very bright from the début from the last year. The 1st round of the season started in good signs, 10th in qualifying and 5th place shortly after the race start. It wasn't long, however, until Doug Hilliard, a driver being lapped, was on the way and foiled Tuomas' race. Doug had nowhere to go to give room for Tuomas to lap him. This costed Tuomas a visit to the pits, and lost lots of positions. Finally 21st in the chequered flag. In the race 2 he retired in the 1st lap after having misjudged the braking point and ending up on another driver's back. Malaysia, Austria and Hungary were nothing but huge disappointments. The team was about to catch its first points in Hungary, but unfortunately it all fell on Tuomas' mistake. The fact that all the past races had been foiled mainly by numerous crashes and pile-ups, made Sisu Grand Prix withdraw from the series.
