2010: Argentina Racing Team
Koivunen drove three races for the Argentina Racing Team as a reserve driver in the 2010 season. His debut race was at the Japanese Grand Prix, where he joined ART just a moment before the start of the qualifying. He had won the Supercup Japanese Grand Prix earlier. Koivunen didn't get any test laps with the Superleague car before qualifying session. He qualified on 17th position and retired his debut race on the 3rd lap after crashing out.
His second race of the season was two months later in the Turkish Grand Prix. Once again Koivunen was entrying the event very late, but this time he did drive in the practice session and had 14 laps before qualifying. Koivunen had strong qualifying and took the 4th position with the ART-Cosworth. He started the race well, but had some problems during the race with consistency - it was the longest race of his sim-racing career. He finished in solid 5th position scoring his first ever GPVWC Superleague points.
Tommi's last race of the season was the Brazilian Grand Prix a few weeks later. He had this time just eight practice laps before the qualifying session. He qualified 13th in the grid of 22 cars. However, his race ended in the first lap after crashing out in the third corner of the circuit.
2011: Nijo Racing
