Roy Schroten's debut in the supercup was on Jul 13, 2011 at the 2011 SC Turkey GP. Roy drove that race for Triple-Double Racing. Then he founded Racing Team Schroten with his brother. At the 2011 SC Canadian GP he drove his first race for Racing Team Schroten. At the Turkey's GP he finnished at a good 14th position. At the Mexican GP he couldn't drive. But on the Canadian GP he was back in action. He qualified at the 17th position and after a very good start he was 10th. At the finnish he was 9th and scored his first points. That were also the first points for Racing Team Schroten. At the Brasilian GP there was a dissapointed result (14th). At Monza Roy had a very disapointing race. he had a good start and after a good fight with some others Roy drove 8th but he crashed out of the race. For the Spain GP Racing Team Schroten had developed a whole new chassis. Roy had one of his great starts, and went up to yhe 7th place (+ 10). Everything went well untill Roy had contact with the car of Tom Parker and spun. He finnished as 11th, just out of the points. At Spa Roy again had one of this great starts and went up to 10th position. But after a fault where he went slow out of the corner, Tom and Roy again had a accident and they both crashed. Roy managed to finnish the race in a broken car at the 14th and last position. At Zandvoort Roy really wanted to give anything he had. Zandvoort is his home track. And Roy drove great! Roy qualified as 13th, After one of his great starts Roy went to the 7th postition. He finnished as 7th as well, just 0.1 sec behind Wopke Hoekstra. He wasn't the best Dutch guy, but was very happy with his best result ever. Also he didn't made a mistake at the race. And then it was already time for the last race of the season. At the 2011 Supercup Singapore Grand Prix Roy couldn't get a good result. Roy dualified as 12th, his best qualify ever. At the start he went from 12th to 6th! But then it went all wrong. He crashed, but could rejoin the race. But the car was to damaged to drive and after 10 laps his race was over. At the end of the season Roy scored 6 points as 28th.

2012

Roy Schroten is active in the 2012 Supercup season for Synergetic Motorsports, after he wasn't able to enter his team RTS. At the first race, he qualified as 13th. But because of the server problems, he had to start as 25th. At the start, Roy had a great start and drove as 14th when Martin Bulgin spun his car in front of him, causing a missive pile up. Roy even flew upside-down, but he could continue the race, after a long sit stop. While the race was going, the game minimized, he lost his wings and had to do another un-planned stop. He finished the race as 14th. At the Chinese GP he wanted to prove what he could for his team. He qualified as 8th, and at the start he has one of his well-known starts, moving up to 2nd place. At the hairpinn after the long back strait he managed to outbrake Fidock, moving up to firts place. That were is firts laps as a leader in his GPVWC career. After five laps Peter Kaasa was able to overtake him, shortly followed by Mark Cullen. Roy unfortunately got braking problems, and with a wrong strategy he was only able to finish 8th. But he was able to keep the car going after a to small radiator size. He scored his first points of the season and was happy with the result. At Abu Dhabi Roy qualified as 13th, but after the start het drove 8th. But the good start fade away when he spun. He continued as 13th, but he was able to overtake some drivers and after 10 laps he drove 8th. Then at the pit stops the was a big chaos. Mal McKee and Roy were using the same box and with Mal pitting Roy had to wait. No tyres were ready so Roy had to drive the whole race on the same mediums. He was able to keep them alive and finished 10th. At the Hungaroring Roy had a grid penalty and had to start as 18th. He once again had an alien start and moved to 8th. After 5 laps Adam Rouse was able to catch up on Roy had Roy took no risks of losing points, so he let him by. Then a little spin closed the gap between him and Terence Grech to 4 seconds. Roy decided to do a late pit stop to change to Super Softs, and after the stops he had a 6 Seconds gap. But Terence was to fast and catched up on Roy. Roy decided that he really wanted points so he took no big risks defending Terence. Terence overtook him on the inside of T1, something even Roy didn't expect. Roy then drove with no risks to the end and finished 10th, taking another point. at the Spain GP Roy was involved in the start crash. Adam spun his car and Roy had no were to go. Luckly he hadn't much damage and could continue the race. Due to problems of others and a good pace brought him the 9th place. At the glamorous race at Monaco Roy managed to qualify his car on a 10th place. With a narrow start he couldn't manage to overtake someone, although he had one of his fast starts again. After a spin and a firm battle Roy drove 10th and was trying to catch up Boyd. He decided to do his stop a few laps later, and that gave him the 6th spot in the race. He had a hard battle with Boyd untill he spun and Roy had a gap around him. But in front of him David and terence lost much time and Roy tried to drive to them. But the disaster. He lost control of his car and had a hard crash, wich costed him his front wing. He tried to defend his 6th position, but had to less grip that he had to let them go, eventualy finishing at a 9th place. After the race Roy was very dissapointed but said he had to move on. And he did, so two weeks later they were in Montreal for a race around the fast track, wich is one of his favorite ones.

At the feature race he had a bad start but could overtake some people back in the first lap, and he drobe 5th. After the stops he drove 4th and he didn't lose his position, taking 4th place. In the sprint race he once again had a bad start but couldn't move up in the field with a damaged car, taking 5th place. After the first round he even stood 3rd in the standings. But at round two he wasn't needed because the main drivers were both availible. At round three at Italy he qualified as 17th, but he was involved in a start crash. He drove 14th with a damaged car when he hit his own team mate who had spinned his car. Both drivers couldn't complete the race. At the sprint race he had a good start but was hit in the back by Thomas. He once again had a damaged car but he was still able to take 14th place. 2011

Roy Schroten was singed up for the 2011 Masters Series season. At the test day he drove quite good. But he could only manage to drive one race. At the last very last race (sprint race of Donington), Roy finnished as 26th.

Other Leagues

Roy's first races were at the BRO league, one of the best leagues in The Netherlands. When it changed its futur plans, Roy decided to leave the league to go international. He found the GPROC, in which many GPVWC drivers drive. He also drove some endurance races at SRO with Ben Warren and Teemu Toikka. He drives in the VE-NASCAR league, and his newest project, the Sprint Cars. He will drive in the SRNZ Sprint Cars league, his first dirt experience. He also drives in the RD Rally Championchip.

His plans for the futur are clear, to drive in as many different cars as possible. Roy: "I always like to explore other cars and other leagues. I like the idea that with every car you have to chance your driving style. I learn a lot from it and it improves my driving skills".

GPVWC Career

Roy joined the GPVWC at June 24th, 2011. He found a seat at Triple-Double Racing for the 2011 Supercup Turkish Grand Prix. After that new teams were aproved and he decided to make his own team, with help of Mike, which they called Racing Team Schroten and joined the Supercup with it. He had some good results, but had to learn a lot. In 2012 Roy decided to withdraw his team from the Supercup to join Synergetic Motorsports. With that team his tallent was discovered. HE scored points every race, exept for two races were he had big crashes, luckly walked away from it unharmed. His best time was at the 2012 Supercup Turkish Grand Prix, were he finished second, in front of championchip leader Petter Kaasa.

He is also very famous for his electric starts.
