Before joining GPVWC, Jonathan raced in some other leagues.

Jonathan joined Tanskanen Racing for the whole 2014 Formula Challenge season, he would be the teammate of James Johnson.

Jonathan made his debut at GPVWC in Formula Challenge races at the Australian Grand Prix. Jonathan did an excellent job by Qualifying on the frontrow in 2nd position (behind)Petar Brljak he also finished in 2nd position in the first race at Melbourne, in the second race he had problems and finshed outside the top 15.

The rest of the season he did perform consistently as of July 2014 Jonathan scored 9 podium places which include 1 win at the Hungaroring
