Gavin Thomas is a Welsh sim-racing driver who has taken part in the Superleague and Supercup championships.
Gavin made his début in the GPVWC at Bahrain in 2009 driving for Gear F1 alongside serial nemesis Wayne Mullins. Later that season he moved to Maximum Racing and in his first race beat his former team mate in qualifying. 2010 saw Thomas co-found Red 5 Racing with Mullins, only for the pair to have a dispute about the ability of the car. Mullins moved to arch nemesis Draig Racing, while Thomas found a drive with the competitive Synergetic scoring his first point in Japan. Later in the season however, he found the Cosworth power-plant too unreliable and moved to Oz Racing scoring his best ever result in Turkey of 8th place, again beating his nemesis Mullins as a bonus.
Supercup
He fully took over ownership of Red 5 Racing in 2010 turning them into a force in the Supercup competition, despite Draig Racing poaching Christoph Lichtenstein. They are back on the grid in 2011 in Supercup, Thomas gaining a respectable 4th in Melbourne along with a 10th in Japan. He took a sabbatical for five Races, but made a dramatic return in the British Supercup race taking 7th after being hit on the warm up lap and starting in the pitlane.
He aims to make Red 5 Racing into a succesful Supercup and Superleague force.
