James Johnson is a English sim-racer who participates for Deltec Racing Team in the 2017 Supercup season.


Early Years

James has been sim racing from a young age. James joins RaceDepartment in 2003 in the RPMTCC series, where he becomes a multiple podium winner. James also ran for 3 seasons in the RDTCC series at RaceDepartment, visiting the podium many a time. James then the joined the RDLMS from 2008 to 2012, becoming a multiple race winner in various classes. He went on to join the Touring Pro Series, becoming a race winner in various championships.

2014 to 2016

In 2014 James joins the GPVWC League, driving for Tanskanen Racing FC in the Formula Challenge Season. He continued with Tanskanen Racing, until 2016 when he was offered a drive with MadCape Racing Team. The highlight of his Formula Challenge career is to win the 2016 GPVWC Formula Challenge Championship! Also in 2015 James join the Virtual Endurance Championship (VEC) League, competing in the GTE-AM class. Then in 2016 with VEC, James scores a 5th place in the GT-AM class, together with multiple podiums in the Porsche 959 Hybrid in the VEC League Room1 of Season 8.

2017

This year James joins Stephane Rouault in the Deltec Racing Team in Supercup. James: ‘It's an interesting situation but exciting nonetheless. I'm really looking forward to working with Stephane as we pushed each other to a high level in 2016 and we got on together as well which is a unique situation for a championship fight. In regards to 2017. I think that working together will allow us to exploit our full potential for a new season in a new car. I'm hoping that we will be able to fight for the championship but Supercup is a totally new experience for the both of us.’ '
