Racing Team Schroten is a GPVWC Constructor and was formed in 2011 by brothers Mike Schroten and Roy Schroten. After a year Mike left the team as manager to start his own team. He still is a driver of the team. The team is active in the Supercup and in the Master Series and made their début at the 2011 Supercup Canadian Grand Prix. The base of RTS was in Bennekom, Netherlands, but they moved to Zandvoort, The Netherlands because of money reasons. There still is a office of the team, but that will be changed to a museum.

Racing Team Schroten has made their début at the 2011 SC Canadian GP. The first meters of the 2011 Supercup car were driven on Zandvoort in The Netherlands by Roy Schroten. At the Canadian GP the team scored their first points with Roy Schroten finishing in 9th place. At the Brazilian GP Mike couldn't drive and Roy finished only 14th. At the Italian SC Grand Prix it was a very disappointing result. Roy drove at the 8th place and Mike drove 11th before they both crashed out of the race. After the race of Monza RTS showed their new chassis on the track of Zandvoort, the Netherlands. RTS also used a new livery from that moment for the last four races of the season. At the GP of Spain RTS had a solid race, just out of the points. Roy finished 11th and Mike 14th. At the Belgium SC GP RTS had bad luck again. Mike felt out with a gearbox problem. Roy Schroten crashed with Tom Parker. He could finish the race, although the car was almost broken. He finished 14th. And then it was time for their home race. Zandvoort is the test circuit of RTS so they really hoped for a good result. And a good result they got! Roy qualified as 13th, After one of his great starts Roy went to the 7th position. He finished as 7th as well, just 0.1 sec behind Wopke Hoekstra. Mike was less lucky. He was involved in a crash with multiple cars. He finished the race at the 14th place. And then it was already time for the last race. At the 2011 Supercup Singapore Grand Prix Roy couldn't get a good result. Roy qualified as 12th, his best qualify ever. At the start he went from 12th to 6th! But then it went all wrong. He crashed, but could rejoin the race. But the car was to damaged to drive and after 10 laps his race was over. Mike qualified as 16th. He had a good start en went up to the 7th position. After a few problems Mike finished as 15th. And then the season was over. Racing Team Schroten scored 6 points and ended up at the 17th place. The team entered the season halfway, and had much work to do. The team was very happy with the progress they made, and they are really looking forward to the next season.

RTS cars of Mike left Roy right

Racing Team Schroten was participating in the 2011 Masters Series season. They had a pretty good start at the first race-weekend at the Norisring in Nuremberg, Germany. Scott Bennett retired in the first race and Mike did the same after a crash. But in the second race Scott was very fast and eventually finished 6th with 14 points. Mike was less lucky. He got a very strange penalty for cutting the track, which he didn’t do, and ended on the 33th place. The second weekend at the Goldenport in China went good as well. In the first race Scott Bennett had to retire the race and Mike Schroten finished 13th, which was his first finish in the points ever in the GPVWC history. In the second race Scott couldn’t drive the whole race because of some problems with the car and Mike, which had a pretty good start (from 28th to 17th in 2 laps), got rammed by an other driver and spun, after that he came back on the track as 26th and eventually finished on the 22nd place. A good overtaking race for him. At Zolder RTS drove quite bad. Scott Bennett didn’t start and Mike Schroten finished 17th in the first race and 18th in the second one. At Istanbul it didn’t went much better. Scott didn’t showed up again and Mike couldn’t go further than a 26th place and a 20th place in the races. At Watkins Glen it went a little bit better. In the first race Mike spun at the end of the race so he lost his chances for points and Scott finished 14th. At the second race Scott finished 8th. He drove good and he received a lot of points with that. Mike was driving at the 7th spot, but then Teemu Toikka and Pavel Loknovski crashed off the track. Mike finished 5th, the best result in the 2011 Masters season, and his personal best in his gpvwc career so far. At Bathurst Circuit it was a stable weekend. Scott finished 18th in the first race and 20th in the second one. Mike finished at a disappointing 33rd place. At the 2nd race he finished 9th, after at very good race. At Donington the final races where driven. Scott Bennett retired in the first race and in the second race he didn’t start. Mike finished 13th after some great battling with Erik and some others. In the sprint race Mike finished 3rd, behind Erik and Simon, but got a penalty and eventually finished at the 7th spot.. Roy Schroten drive this very last race as well. With no experience in the cars and no practice he finished as 26th. Racing Team Schroten scored 69 points and finished 12th in the constructors championship. A good season for the team.

GPVWC Formule Challange

2012

Racing Team Schroten is active in the 2012 Formula Challenge season. At first Mike and Roy were the drivers for the team, but when the new regulation rules were published, the team discovered they weren't allowed to drive. As a result of that, the team went looking for other drivers, and found Alistair Brown and Marcus Sundstrom. They are both very young drivers, but they fit with the team very well. The team mainly wants to train the drivers to put them in futur leagues. Roy is the test/reserve driver of the team.

RTS-FC1

At the first round at Brands Hatch, the team couldn't use Marcus, because he had other things to do. As a result of that, Roy stepped in the #31 car and drove a fantastic race, allong with Alister. Roy qualified as 7th, while Alistair took that 11th place on the grid. Then the first race of the season started. Roy's start was horrible, as he droped to 10th, while Alistair went to 12th place. Then Roy drove a fantastic race and finished 4th, while Alistair did a great job finished 13th, and taking his first points (3) in his GPVWC career. The second race gets both emotions. Alistair stared 3rd, and drove 2nd when he crashed into the wall, while Roy had a problem at the start and a crash. He could continue and gave everything he had. He came from 20th place, but finished 5th! Then it was time for the second round of the season. Marcus was back and ready to roll. The team couldn't repeat the results, as Marcus qualified 21th and Alistair 20th. They both had a stable start and Alistair even drove 14th, when he and the race leader collided and he got a penalty for argessive driving. He finisehd 19th, while Marcus had a stable debut race at the 18th place. The second race didn't go very good as well. Alistair had a great start but spinned multiple times, causing him to finish 21th. Marcus had quite a good race and finished 16th, after he was able to dodge the colistion in the last chicane.
