The Japanese GT Cup was an event held during the 2012 Winter GT Series season at the Fuji Speedway, Oyama. The Japanese GT Cup was not picked up for the 2013 World GT Series season however was reinstated to the calender for the 2015 season as the series moved to rFactor 2. As the new season opener, the 2015 event would become the first GPVWC event since the 2013 Masters Series season to use the rFactor 2 platform.
