The Woods Racing team assembled for a press conference today. The assembled throng of press were ready for a happy atmosphere, given the double points finish and podium finish for Mark Wicks, but when the team walked out with sullen faces it was clear something else was on their minds. Ollie Woods took the mic:

"We were all ready to come out and have a mini Pepsi fight to celebrate Mark finally getting on the podium, but we've just seen that Laurent Keersmaekers has been loaned to Vod:Bul for the Brazilian Grand Prix, and frankly we're in no mood to party now.

We're actually pretty disgusted. To us - and I speak for the team as a whole here, and I'm sure for other teams - it's no more than payback from the Keersmaekers to Mike Pitman for him being on their side in attacking the admins and Governing Body, which is ridiculous. It's also bloody unfair on the teams above and below VB, since they've now got two drivers likely to actually start and likely to beat most of the teams ahead and behind us. We came out of Shanghai confident that we could overturn the 4 point margin to overtake them, but it seems to us that they've done this to stop us from doing that and to overtake Stealth and JPR. That's totally unfair, because Stealth and JPR have been consistent over the year and for them to lose out because of one race would be ridiculous.

Now, I know there's an argument of "yeah I've got to do the best I can for the team" - but on the last race? That's cheating the system, especially when Pitman has enough drivers to be able to swap around when he likes. My point is, it's not a necessity so it shouldn't be allowed, and I hope that other teams will join me in condemning this heinous behaviour from both Vod:Bul and Simsoa. We'll be looking to still put up a fight, of course, but we're severely disappointed that our end to the season has been compromised beyond our control."

Woods paused before leaving the stage to let the drivers say anything. They didn't, but it was clear in their expressions that they were hurt and annoyed. There was no time for questions.
