This weekend teams from around the world gathered together for one of longest races in simracing - the RD Nordschleife 24 Hours - and the official GPVWC Racing team, together with other GPVWC drivers, performed really well in the tough event.

The team, taking part under name 'GPVWC Racing' consisted of mix of Superleague and Supercup names in the form of David Jundt, Roy Schroten, Teemu Toikka, William Tringas, Tom Eley and Scott Bennett. David Jundt took control of the team's blue GT2 Spyker during qualifying and set a respectable 15th place in class in what proved to be a very competitive grid.

GPVWC Racing went into the race itself with sense of optimism and as the lights went green this proved well founded. During the opening hour the team quickly gained positions in the 41-car field as they navigated their way safely around the twists and turns of the infamous 22.8 km (14.2 mi) long 'Green Hell'. Some solid laptimes from Jundt coupled with misfortunes for several rival teams meant that GPVWC Racers had climbed to 21st overall by the time of the first driver swap. Dutchman Roy Schroten then set about improving the team's position during his stint before handing over to Finnish driver Teemu Toikka with around 4 hours having elapsed. The handover to Toikka was smooth, but unfortunately the fading light and cool temperature proved tough for the Finn, who rather unfortunately kept his pitcrew very busy during his stint.

However, despite their best efforts, the race came to a premature end for GPVWC Racing as technical issues during the following driver swap left them unable continue after only 5 hours racing.

The GPVWC name found ways to get plenty of exposure, however, as league members Dave Carr-Smith, Petter Kaasa and Rickard Hellsten, racing for Supercup and Formula Challenge entrants Torrent Motorsport, triumphed in the GT2 class, a further testimony of the quality of the field competing in the GPVWC.
