Mike Schroten and Wopke Hoekstra confirmed for 2015 'revival'.

With their return to GPVWC action confirmed for 2015, Epic Racing has made it's move and signed up two experienced drivers to race for them in the Formula Challenge series.

Making the confirmation, Team Manager Lee Davidson:

"With 2015 set to be Epic's big revival, we didn't take our driver choices lightly. We set our criteria out early, the drivers must be talented, consistent and above all else team players. I believe with the two drivers we have signed, we have fulfilled each and every one."

"Driving our number twenty-six entry will be Dutch driver Mike Schroten. With two years of experience within Formula Challenge to call upon, Mike is the perfect driver to lead our season and we'll be counting on his raw pace and tenacity to make the difference in the race. I've known Mike for a while and am confident he will shrive in our environment."

"Joining Mike in the number twenty-seven machine will be a fellow Dutchman who also has a phenomenal amount of experience to call upon, including two seasons at Supercup and another two at Formula Challenge."

"He has also driven in the Masters Series, proving he is a fantastic all-round talent. That driver is Wopke Hoekstra. Wopke has a natural gift that few possess and knows what it takes to win in Formula Challenge."

"Our two drivers complete a line up to rival any other at the Formula Challenge level. With Mike and Wopke we are confident that Epic will not only regain it's reputation, but enhance it further for seasons to come. Personally, I am looking forward to working with both of them to get the very best out of each performance, I am genuinely excited to see how they fare as the season goes on and cant wait for the testing period to begin in the New Year."

Mike Schroten had this to say;

"I have known Lee for a few years now and we both drove for each other's teams in the past. Lee asked me to join his team in the 2015 Formula Challenge whereas I was searching for a team which could sign both me and Wopke Hoekstra since we wanted to team up in the 2015 campaign."

"I did not need a long time thinking about his offer and together with Wopke we agreed on driving for Epic Racing. Furthermore to this it is great to drive for a team that participated in the league before, dropped out and now makes its comeback again."

"This might sound a bit odd to some people, but when I do not score points in a race I feel like I have wasted my time, except for the 'once in a lifetime' battle of course. This means that my objective for this year will be to score points in as many races as possible and have a better consistency in the second part of the season, which had previously ruined my position in the drivers standings while driving for both Racing Team Schroten and Wauters Automotive in the last two seasons."

Wopke Hoekstra added;

"As we were approaching the end of the 2014 FC season, Mike and I started talking about next season. We were both quite disappointed by our results in the last few rounds and were looking to work together as a team to turn that around in 2015."

"Now, what's more perfect than a team that's trying to turn their reputation within the Career Ladder around as well. When I heard I could join the Epic Racing team, it was an easy decision. Especially since they wanted both Mike and me. I'm really looking forward to race for the team and give them all they deserve. Our team boss works hard and he deserves a good driver who scores him points, so I feel it's my duty to do that for him."

When asked about his objectives for the season, Wopke said,

"Objectives are not a good thing for me. I do not want to feel forced by an objective when I race. When I race, I just want to drive laps and be fast. That's my only objective."

Epic Racing's return commences on the 24th of February with the Challenge Australian Grand Prix.
