Edonis driver leads from lights-to-flag in first full time start
Adam Maguire kicked of the 2020 GPVWC Superleague in emphatic style, as he won the Australian Grand Prix for Edonis.

2019 Champion Jannick Bock came home two seconds behind in his Evolution Motorsports car, whilst Rait Kilk put in a splendid drive to take third.

Everybody had gotten off the line cleanly, although Jernej Simoncic was slightly wide after contact at Turn two, which dropped him to sixth.

Maguire had stretched his lead to a second by the end of the first lap, and that?s as close as the race for the lead would stay.

Germano Zappala was running in eighth as part of a nice train behind third-placed Daniel Brewer. However, a mistake at Turn three would cede his position to Stephane Rouault.

Maguire and Kilk pitted at the end of Lap 20 and fitted the Hard tyres. When the pit-stop cycle was completed five laps later, the Estonian - driving for Red Archer - had jumped from seventh to third.

Luca D`Amelio was one of a handful of drivers to make a late stop. That meant that his seventh position was up for grabs.

When Rouault, Eros Masciulli and Zappala did manage to get past the Ghostspeed Racing driver, D`Amelio finally pitted.

The train behind contained a hard charging Chris Butcher. An over-zealous move on Laurent Keersmaekers lead to the Red Arrow losing a rear wing.

Simoncic moved past Dennis Jordan for fifth when the sister Evolution car skated off the road, whilst Zappala succumbed to a brake failure with just three laps to go - losing ninth.

The race was all about Maguire who eased to the chequered flag for his first Superleague victory.

Edonis Engineering lead the Constructors Championsip by three points, with Red Archer VRT in third.

Holland Racing Team had a good first showing in Fourth whilst Ghostspeed Racing Team picked up their first points to lie eighth - thanks to D`Amelio finishing 12th.
