Nightmare warm-up for Mapes-VO

During warm-up for the Spanish Grand Prix, there was an unfortunate incident at the Barcelona track.

Mikko Jakonen was starting a timed lap when Kieran Ryan came out of the pits. There seemed to some misunderstanding about who goes which way, as they ran into each other at the end of the straight with speeds near 300km/h.. Both drivers' cars were wrecked and an ambulance was called.

Luckily it seems both drivers got away with only minor bruises. Now the team has to work round the clock to get the cars fixed in time for the race.
