TBA today released this statement reflecting their anger at a certain 'journalist' starting false rumours about the team's future within the GPVWC.

"We at TBA Racing are appalled by the comments made by a certain David Griffin about TBA's involvement with the 2001 GPVWC season. These comments are totally unfounded and at no point has Griffin been in contact with TBA regarding our future in the league. As far as all of us at TBA Racing are concerned, we are committed 110% to the GPVWC and if anything, the problems encountered within the management structure in the early/mid season have strengthened the team spirit ten-fold.

"Dan Lawrence can confirm the GPVWC received our entry form for the 2001 championship at least a fortnight before this story broke proving that Griffin is not only ill-informed but also well out of touch with what is going on currently within both TBA and the GPVWC. TBA may not be the fastest team on the grid but we have scored 23 constructors points this season and are currently 8th in the Constructors Championship ahead of RaceBase, Feilerfuf and HawkEyE. We will gladly talk to anyone from the press regarding TBA, but we will not stand for unfounded and false accusations of this nature."

After the statement was issued, team owner Chaz Charlton was spotted behind the press offices talking to a certain Harry 'The Hatchet' McGovan (and minders) about matters unknown but a certain amount of cash exchanged hands. McGovan is well known in the area for certain 'travel and accommodation arrangements' he supplies if someone is in need of giving someone else a 'holiday'.
