A torrential rainstorm led to a wet track at the start. The rain eased off and a drying line started to appear, but constant showers meant that the track never dried out.

Mikko Jakonen (Mapes-VO) was master of Interlagos in these trying conditions, followed by Shiro Ryong (SCUM) and Daniel Wilkinson (EIRE).

Jakonen leads the drivers standings by 10 points, and Mapes-VO the Constructors by 16 points.
