Following on from yesterdays press release, a more formal Press Conference was arranged at which Chris Goodley was introduced as Woods Racings' first race driver signing for the 2004 season.

Woods Racing boss Oliver Woods today held a press conference to officially announce the signing of Chris Goodley.

"As you know, Chris signed a contract with us yesterday. Unfortunately I was busy at a community event so I couldn't comment afterwards. However, now we both can," he said.

"Chris has been racing with us in the GPChampionship Spa 1000 competition, and he is definitely quick. The 1000 was a definite place to try out new drivers - unfortunately, all of my team were contracted to others for 2004 in GPChamps. However, I spoke to Chris about an F1VWC place and he agreed that it would be a major challenge. It's great to have him on board, and I hope we can do well. I have a contract for a 2nd driver but I'm waiting for him to sign."

Woods was also asked about the test engine. To this he replied: "At the end of last season Cosworth, our league-wide engine sponsor, gave us modified Ford engines (called WoodsTec) to use. We hope to snap an engine deal up as soon as possible."
