Due to demands beyond the control of team principle Andrew J. Wright, Team Silver Angels announce that they will not be competing in the 2001 competition.

They wish to thank everyone in the championship for their support and wish everyone luck in the future. However, it should be noted that we are still competing in this seasons' championship and lead driver Thomas Kimmich is currently in second place. Therefore we will be redoubling our efforts to win the championship.

When questioned afterwards about his reasons for pulling out of the championship, team owner Andrew J. Wright said the following:

"It has been a great initial season for the championship which - after a problematic start - has gone from strength to strength. However, Team Silver Angels have had a number of problems throughout the season which were unavoidable and regrettable, such as the loss of two second seat drivers amongst others, but they are not the reasons why I am pulling out of the championship.

My main problem is time, or rather the lack of it - and the championship is somewhat lower in my priorities than getting a degree. Personal illness has also caused problems and for the last month or so I have relied on the team running on auto-pilot alone and in this time we have dropped from leading the drivers' championship to second place. This situation is unfair to myself, the drivers and the other members of the championship - including out beleagured organiser Dan Lawrence."

On the question of what the future holds:

"Well as far as the championship is concerned, I'm sure that someone will cover the gap left by the pull-out of the team. Anybody who signs Thomas Kimmich is going to be on a winner. I'm not so sure about the changes to the championship for the 2001 season, I knew they were coming along, but I always felt that the team managers should have more say in the rules rather than having them imposed, even if it is just a consultation role. However, I will still be on the scene - I'm not leaving for another championship - and have offered my services already to Dan to take on any role on the administration of the championship or to look after any teams on a short-term basis should they need it. I will not be disappearing completely from the scene and secretly hope to get a call soon..."
