The very first GPVWC Drivers World Championship will be decided at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.

Jason Endean (BA Racing-Mercedes) goes into the event 7 points ahead of championship rival Thomas Kimmich (Silver Angels-BMW). Richard Dickson (A Racing-Renault) has lost his chance of the title and lags behind Endean in third place with 110 points.

Endean and Kimmich have been closely matched all season and even though Endean missed the first GP at Monza he has still managed to get into the lead of the championship.

Monaco is the most famous street circuit in the world. The circuit is built almost overnight and the close barriers leave little room for error. Overtaking is also very rare and impatience tends to fog drivers' judgement, causing passing attempts at almost impossible places.

The lap starts with the tight Sainte Devote corner, which often creates chaos on the first lap, before the cars charge up the Beau Rivage and sweep through the famous Casino Square. The image of Formula One cars racing flat-out past the doors of the Hotel de Paris in one of the most famous in motorsport.

After the tight hairpins at Mirabeau and Loews, the circuit tunnels underneath Loews Hotel before emerging on the harbour front. After the New Chicane, in theory the best passing place on the lap, come the two most challenging corners: the fast Tabac left-hander and the left-right flick between the walls at the start of the Swimming Pool complex. The impossibly tight Rascasse bends bring the cars back round to start another lap.

The constructors championship has been decided however! A Racing-Renault have had by far the most consistent and committed driver pairing this season with both drivers scoring at every race. Amazingly neither driver has won a race, had a pole position or a fastest lap but pure consistency has seen them at the top of the constructors standings since the second race of the season.

Richard dickson has finished on the podium 5 times and has never finished lower than 6th place! Chris Connolly has been slightly behind Dickson for most of the season but over the last few races he has raised his game and would have had his first pole position at the Canadian GP if he had followed the regulations properly. They are a very deserving team.
