Over the last 3 races, Simsoa has gone from 0 points to 12. This has moved Simsoa to 7th in the Constructors' Championship. After this weekend's 8th place and 1 point from David Brown, the team felt extremly relieved after Brown had to battle with Tortella, finally taking him with 3 laps to go for the final Championship point on offer! Despite this being a huge reality check for the team after the stellar performance in Monaco, the team are pleased that the team can now score points with the regular lineup.

Lawrence Simpson had this to say after the race: "I'm really pleased with David's performance today. To get 8th place here at one of his favourite circuits is excellent news as this shows the car is now in touch with the larger teams. Javier has also managed to keep morale high with his highest race finish (13th) of the season and I'm just simply delighted at how close those two have gotten since January."

This sudden change of fortune has heralded speculation if another Kieran Ryan moment could happen later in the season, Lawrence quickly denied this: "Unfortunately, Kieran won't be racing for Simsoa again this season...we have talked about something for next year, but at the moment nothing is planned - although because of Kieran's talent with the SA-03V, we HAVE had some interest from other drivers which I won't name at this time."

So, could we see another experienced driver in a Simsoa cockpit sometime this season? Whatever the outcome, the team has managed to tell the front runners that they are here and they're here to stay in the F1VWC.
